Starting Weight Watchers – again

This is a “back dated post” as I journal my weight loss journey so far

Happy Birthday!  Yes, it’s my birthday – and I’ve decided to join Weight Watchers.  It was my sister’s idea.  I’ve joined at least 4 times in the past, and have never really been able to stick with it.  Seems I’m good for about 4 weeks, and then I eat all the chocolate I can find.

I remember back when I was 16 and I weighed 116 lbs and thought I was fat.  And I ate nothing but tuna fish – which made me sick.  If only I had known then I wasn’t fat and learned how to eat healthy and in moderation, I might not be looking at double that weight now.

My highest weight has been 241.  That was back in 2010 when I was diagnosed with Diabetes.  I quickly lost 40 lbs by just cutting out sugar.  I switched my daily Coke habit to Coke Zero (I know, still bad for you) and didn’t have any chocolate.   But in early 2013, I started putting the weight back on.  I’ve been as high as 232, but I started Weight Watchers officially at 222 – so not as bad as it has been.

So I’m hoping this time will stick.  I’m going to Las Vegas in August and would really like to lose enough weight that I feel good about myself.  I’m not anywhere close to wearing a bikini – nor will I ever be – but I do want to look good in clothes again.

Here is a “before” picture of me and two of the kids.  No clue what I weighed – but around what I do now.  I don’t have many pictures of myself – I’m usually the one taking the pictures.
